不同身體質量指數與體適能表現差異研究-以國立勤益技術學院學生爲例

Body Mass Index and Physical Fitness Performance in National Chin-Yi Institute of Technology

摘要


The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of physical fitness and BMI status between different department students. The participants included 2951 students in ten departments of National Chin-Yi Institute of Technology (2113 male students with mean age 20.87±2.43; 838 female students with mean age 20.37±2.13). The physical fitness data was processed by one-way ANOVA, Chi-Square Tests and independent t-test. The result was as followed: 1. In the physical fitness, the 800M run and walk in female students show significant difference between different departments (p<.05). 2. The percentage of overweight, male students are higher than the female students (28.83% and 11.07%, respectively). The percentage of underweight, female students are higher than male students (28.08% and 18.09%, respectively). 3. In three BMI groups (overweight, normal, and underweight), the male overweight group when compare to the other two groups showed significant differences in 1 min sit and up, standing long jump and 1600M run and walk (p<.05). However, the female overweight group showed significant differences in sit and reach and 800 M run and walk (p<.05). Conclusion: 1. The male and female students of National Chin-Yi Institute of Technology show poorly physical fitness. 2. It is important to encourage students to do exercise regularly and provide the correct concept of diet and weight control for the students who are overweight or underweight. 3. In this study, we proved that overweight has negative impact in physical fitness. In order to promote the level of personal physical fitness, we might to design an individual exercise prescription and weight control project for overweight students.
