新北市棒球隊是響應政府「振興棒球運動總計畫」所成立的社會甲組球隊之一,球隊成立的目的是為增加高中、大學、退伍後等選手的就業機會與方向,輔導強化基層選手技術與觀念,並做為連接職棒的重要橋梁。本研究將針對新北市成棒隊比賽的數據分析比較,和內部相關人員進行半結構式訪談,及其他各隊社會甲組業務相關人員資料收集,透過SWOT策略分析了解新北市棒球隊在優勢(strength)、劣勢(weakness)、機會(opportunities)及威脅(threats)等面向之情形。研究結果發現新北市成棒隊在六項數據打擊率(0.257)、長打率(0.354)、上壘率(0.329)、防禦率(0.541)、被上壘率(1.698)及守備率(0.973)中,等有五項成績都比其他社會甲組成棒隊平均低近乎一個標準差,且在SWOT分析的四個面向上分有多元進修管道等四項優勢、提升棒球風氣與就業機會等四項機會、經費不足場地維護不易、合約彈性空間狹小等十項劣勢、以及媒體曝光率知名度不高等四項威脅。最後本文透過分析結果的反思,提出增加未來競爭力的相關建議,以利做為新北市棒球隊組訓管理之參考。
New Taipei City Baseball Team was one of the amateur baseball teams established in response to the "Revitalization Plan for Baseball". The main purposes for the establishment of the team were to increase job opportunities for high school and college graduates; to reinforce the skills and concepts among basic level players; to serve as a bridge connecting to professional baseball. This research analyzed the competition data of New Taipei City Baseball Team. Semi-structured interviews with relevant staff were conducted. Information was also collected from related personnel of other amateur baseball teams. SWOT analysis was adopted to further understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) of New Taipei City Baseball Team. The results showed that compared to other amateur baseball team, among 6 statistics including batting average (BA: 0.257), slugging percentage (SLG: 0.354), on base percentage (OBP: 0.329), earned run average (ERA: 0.541), walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP: 1.698) and fielding percentage (FPCT), 5 statistics were worse by almost one standard deviation. Moreover, the SWOT analysis also indicated 4 strengths including multiple training paths; 4 opportunities such as elevation of baseball participation and job opportunities; 10 weaknesses consisting of lack of budget, field maintenance difficulties and inflexible contract terms; 4 threats including low media exposure as well as low visibility. In conclusion, recommendationswith regard to enhance future competitiveness of New Taipei City Baseball Team were proposedbased on this analysis and to further serve as references for team management.
