Research Regarding to the Impact of CEPA and ECFA on Hong Kong and Taiwan Hotel Industry

摘要

為強化經濟發展並與中國大陸建立更緊密的經貿關係，香港、台灣分別於2003年及2010年與大陸簽署CEPA與ECFA經貿合作協定。該經貿協定是否代動兩地間酒店業與飯店業的經營營運效益，遂為本研究感興趣的部份。本文以香港酒店業務統計及臺灣觀光局公布之觀光統計月報為主題，分析CEPA實施前後7年間（1996年至2010年）與ECFA實施前後一年間（2008年5月至2012年7月）香港、台灣的酒店業與飯店業整體營運績效變化。實證結果發現，CEPA與ECFA的施行對於該產業平均生產營運有上升的趨勢；唯因ECFA實施時期較短，後續研究上須進一步擴增研究樣本探討。

In order to raise the economic development and establish a closer mutual economic relationship, Hong Kong and Taiwan signs CEPA and ECFA individually in Year 2003 and Year 2010 with Mainland China. This research focuses on operational performance result of Hong Kong and Taiwan hotel Industry after the closer mutual trading association. This research uses the statistics figures of Hong Kong Hotel association and Taiwan Tourism Bureau to analyze the Hotel Business Performance seven years before and after CEPA (1996 to 2010), and one year before and after ECFA (May, 2008 to July2012). The result proves the implementation of CEPA and ECFA raise the trend of hotel average business performance. Only considering the period of ECFA implementation is still short, so the research sample can be enlarged for future continues research.
