Second Berlusconi Government completed his governance for five years, which is a rare spectacle in the current Italian political history. This article provides a review and an assessment of the foreign policy of the second Berlusconi government. The first section proceeds to the review of the changes Italian foreign policy underwent at the post-Cold War. The second part focuses on the question of continuity and change regarding the two traditional pillars of Italian foreign policy, namely the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance, during the second Berlusconi government's time in office. The article concludes that the changes in foreign policy between European Pillar and American Pillar of second Berlusconi government came into being. The aspects of Berlusconi's foreign policy are mercantilism, mediator-orientation and the priority of development of bilateral relationship and highlight of Italian role in the global stage.
