The purpose of this article is to present the nursing care experience of patient suffering diabetic foot and facing the amputation surgery. From September 12 to October 2. 2002, the author adopted the techniques of observation, conversation, audience etc and used the criterion of Gordon to estimate the functional healthy of the patient. The results showed not only the threatening of disease and stress of surgery, but also the functional loss of limbs and permanent change of the appearance of the patient to confront after operation. Therefore, anxiety, pain, high risk for infection and body image disturbance deviated problems may be existed. During nursing process, the author adopted the modalities of support, such as active assiduity and sympathy to establish a good nursing-patient relationship and gain the buttress and coordination of the family. Thus, we can also assist patient to get adaptation of amputation and recovery of health by means of professional knowledge and executions.
