Wen Xin Diao Long is a book in which Liu Xie conveys his ideal of life, and it is also a concrete carrier by which he expresses his literal ideal and his concern about his contemporary. In this study, Liu Xie's definition of literary writings and his promotion of humanism will be first discussed. Second, Liu Xie's observation and his consideration of the literal styles in his time will be explained. Third, through the affection of the writings, the forms of the writings, and the literary grace of the writing, Liu Xie's ideal of literary creation will be revealed in order to raise the humanism that Wen Xin Diao Long implies. This study aims not only to further interpret Liu Xie's intentions of writing but also to approve his outstanding literal vision.
