論周敦頤「聖人之學」

The Comment on「Study on Sage」of Zhou Dun Yi

摘要


中國文化史上,自孔子始創儒學,孟子繼之,在春秋戰國的亂世中,孔子知其不可為而為的踐行,孟子捨我其誰,視大人則藐之的氣概,皆成為儒家的典範,奠定了往後儒者欲為聖人之標竿。然而之後的各朝代,漢儒以治經為重,魏晉南北朝崇尚道家,流行玄學,唐代佛學盛行,五代時,社會風氣墮落,內聖之學不傳久矣! 宋代,是儒學復甦的時代,周敦頤正是此一復興運動的奠基者,本文欲透過周敦頤的著作《通書》及《太極圖說》,論述其聖人之學。先論及為聖之標準是誠,再談為聖之內容及功夫,以上皆為內聖之學,最後論及為聖之目的,展現的是儒家的外王事功,周敦頤的「聖人之學」實兼及內聖外王之旨,特別加以闡明。透過以上研究希望對周敦頤聖人之學有一個完整的呈現。

Song dynasty is the resuscitate age of Confucianism, Zhou dun yi is the founder of this revive campaign, this text would like to study by zhou dun yi's writings 《tong shu》and《tai chi illustration》, it expounded the doctrine about saint. For touching upon saint's norm is sincere, then talking to the content and method on how to become a saint, Inner holy theory mentioned above. It talked about to be a saint's purpose in the end which showed Confucianism how to achieve external matters on country affairs, Zhou dun yi's theory of saint has both inner and external method, especially expounded in this text. Through above-mentioned study, that we have integrity figure to zhou dun yi's study on sage.
