Qin Guan (1049-1100) was famous for Ci. His Huaihai Ci is best-known. He was the representation of the Graceful Ci in Song Dynasty, and went by the name of Su Men Four Scholars. Qin Guan had 14 postscripts, only few amount of his essays. Each had its style and feature. Some gave expression to real selfhood and friendship, some contained zen ideology and thingking on life, others revealed partisanship. Some specialized in narration, some was good at scenery description, some was adept at irony, while others studied calligraphy. Qin Guan was once full of ambition for politics, but succeeded eventually in writing. His articles talked current affairs freely, but only the prefaces and postscripts showed his inherent qualities.
