醫護類學生就醫時病人安全知識、態度及行為之探討-與非醫護類組學生之比較

The Health Care Students as a Patient: Knowledge, Attitude and Practice about Patient Safety-Compared with Non-Health Care Students

摘要


The aims of this study were to confer the patient safety-related knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) between the departments of health care and non-health care students in the university. The 239 samples came from the departments of Nursing (90 subjects), Health Care Management (70 subjects), and Business Administration (79 subjects) in a university. The structured questionnaire was used to collect data. The results showed that the students in the departments of Nursing (mean=9.08) and Health Care Management (mean=8.71) had significantly higher knowledge score of patient safety than those in the department of Business Administration (mean=7.33). The attitude towards patient safety of the students in the departments of Nursing was lower than those in the department of Business Administration (p<0.05). Furthermore, in the knowledge score, , those in the third-year was higher than in the first-year, those seeking medical advice above 3 times in one year was higher than no medical experience. In the practice score, female was significantly higher than male, those taking regular exercise was significantly higher than the others, and those concerning medical news was higher than the others. We suggested that more emphasis is needed on the attitude of patient safety in the nursing students. School authority should take notice of the patient safety education to improve the safety when the students take medical treatment and enhance the hospital culture when the health care students work in the hospital.
