Objectives: This study explores the psychological trends of college students in the course of university study arising from influence of different sports participation on passion and self-esteem due to different sports goals after participating in physical education (PE). Motivations: The purpose of this study is to research psychological trends after the PE classes' fuzzy questionnaire survey conducted by using the 3 × 2 achievement goal. Methods: The sample consists of 183 students enrolled in university PE courses, including 46 males and 137 females of which the average age is 19.58 (SD = 6.19). The survey used a 3 × 2 achievement goal, passion, and self-esteem, as well as conducting fuzzy statistical analysis by using fuzzy descriptive statistics, fuzzy correlation coefficients and fuzzy regression model. Finding: (1) There was correlation between all the variables; (2) the T AP, OAP, and OAV independent variables have explanatory power for HSE dependent variable, and the influence on HSE is T AP > OAP; T AP, OAP, and OAV independent variables have explanatory power for LSE dependent variable; (3) the T AP, OAP, and OAV independent variables have explanatory power for Harmonious dependent variable, and the influence on HP is OAP > T AP; T AP, OAP, and OAV independent variables have explanatory power for Obsessive dependent variable, and the influence on HSE is OAP > T AP; and (4) the HP and OP independent variables have explanatory power for HSE-dependent variable; HP and OP independent variables have explanatory power for LSE dependent variable; and the influence on LSE is OP > HP. Innovations: Validation of the application of fuzzy membership of psychological scale to PE. Value: This study provides new research techniques in the psychological trends of new PE. It is advised that PE teachers in oral or in lecture behavior should encourage the improvement of students' enthusiasm for participation to better the psychological feelings about students' self-esteem during the teaching process.
