科學展具操作行為研究-以科博館奇妙的光為例

Study on Operation Behavior of Scientific Facilities in Museum-Wonderful Light Exhibition

摘要


本研究以台中科學博物館科學中心奇妙的光展具:挑選觀察對象為「熱光」、「三種光」、「光之島」三項展具,含操作行為記錄以及展示偏好兩部分。操作行為記錄由研究者觀察及記錄觀眾操作展具的情形,展示偏好問卷是在觀眾操作完展具後填寫,反映觀眾對展具的評價,以了解影響觀眾操作意願之因素。歸納發現展具持續力以「熱光」較高,因為其展示效果明顯,觀眾會嘗試不同的效果,因此駐足時間長。持續力最低的為「光之島」,由於該展示組件多而令人不知所措。「三種光」多數觀眾未能將展具完整操作;常在看到單一效果後就停止而無法完整傳達。大部份的觀眾都不閱讀展版,通常會與同伴討論或獨自模索後才閱讀展版說明。藉由三種展具歸納科學展具應具備的展示模式,須要變化效果明顯,操作方面與觀眾心智模式接近,以利於理解及接受;展示因果效果不明顯或是物件內涵複雜會導致操作困難與使用意願降低。

This research was implemented in the wonderful light exhibition in Taichung Science museum, the scientific center. The choices objects of observation were ”the hot light” ”three kind of light” and ”island of the light”. The operation behavior were observed, the questionnaire was collected to reflect the audience feeling and factors of design improvement.The holding power of ”the hot light” was high, because its demonstration effect is obvious and the audience can attempt the different effect smoothly. The ”island of the light” had low acceptance and need to improve. ”Three kind of light” shown proper integrity operation and had high acceptance too. The majority audience did not read panel, after the usage they might meet with the companion for discussing. From the observation, the science demonstration should have clear cause and effect, the response should be obvious. From the operation aspect, designer has to understand the audience mental model, which favors user’s understanding and acceptance. Complex interaction or parts can cause the operation difficulties and degrade the usability.
