小型冷卻風扇性能改良之研究

A Study of the Performance of Small Cooling Fans

摘要


本文研究主要是針對如何提昇小型冷卻風扇之性能來加以探討。實驗測試方面,本文採用美國空氣移控協會(Air Movement and Control Association)AMCA 210-85規範中所規定之實驗設備進行性能測試。本文以雙顆風扇串聯間的距離與轉速為參數,並與單顆風扇的風量與風壓來做比較,期望得出雙顆風扇串聯的最佳化。本文實驗結果顯示在雙顆風扇的組合中,其所衍生出的風量比單顆風扇在相同轉速下約增加10%~20%,且經由實驗量測發現其CPU溫度確實也可以降低10%-20%之多。另外,由於風扇串聯時,風扇與風扇間產生流場干擾與迴流現象。所以,由實驗中我們發現兩顆風扇串聯且其間距為零時所產生的效果最好,其風量約增加20%。本文研究結果除了可以提供小型冷卻風扇性能的最佳化設計外,更可以對小型冷卻風扇應用於解決桌上型電腦的散熱提供重要的參考。

This study focuses on the performance and function of small cooling fan. The laboratory equipments, according to the specifications of AMCA 210-85 required by U.S. Air Movement and Control Association, were used for performance testing. The experiments compared the performances between single fan and dual fans. The parameters in series dual fans are pitch and rpm, the results were compared with a single fan in volume rate and pressure. The performance of dual fans in series is expected to obtain an optimum result. The experiments showed an increased 10-20% of airflow rate in dual fans compared to the single fan at the same speed; the CPU also showed a decrease of 10-20% in temperature of dual fan in series when it compare with single fan . Because the dual fans have its fans in series, a phenomenon occurs between the fans that it produces interference with the flow field and generates recirculation flow. However, when the distances between the fans are reduce to zero spacing gap, the airflow is increased by 20%. The results of this study may not only provide the best design of a small cooling fan performance (or function), but also provides a solution for dissipation heating in desktops.
