The Relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and Credit Rating Index

摘要

本文探討企業社會責任與信用評等指標間之關聯，利用天下雜誌所提供的標竿企業聲望調查結果作為企業社會責任指標，並以台灣經濟新報所提供之信用評等分級（TCRI）來衡量企業之信用風險，以1997年到2009年之間台灣上市、櫃公司資料進行實證觀察，探討企業社會責任與企業信用風險評等的關係。實證結果顯示企業社會責任評等較高之公司確實有較好的信用評等分級，企業社會責任參與程度會影響其信用評等等級。

This study is to investigate the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Credit Rating Index (CRI). Corporate Social Responsibility index came from Common World magazine. The credit rating and the other related data came from TEJ. The empirical results show that the firms with more CSR have better credit rating. Therefore, the results support that the enterprises to participate in social responsibility can be helpful to reduce the credit risk and increase credit rating.
