Human Flesh Search (HFS) is a phenomenon that Internet users collectively dig up private information about specific individuals using internet media such as search engines and then publish on the Internet platform. By uncovering personal identity information, such as name, phone, occupation, or even personal relationships in order to punish someone is always against moral concern. This study aimed to discover the phenomenon and results of HFS. The qualitative strategy of multiple-case approach was used. We collected and discussed up to five different types of HFS cases. Based on these findings, professionals and scholars will gain a better understanding of this up-and-coming phenomenon. The results also provide some implications for policy-makers and educational institutions.
