Wu Li was a missionary of Chinese nationality in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The teachers and friends he met during his upbringing made him knowledgeable in Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and Catholicism. Due to his dedication and enthusiasm in faith, he was eager to spread Western Catholicism to the Chinese people by using traditional Chinese verse writing called "Sanqu" to compose western mass music and completed the book "Tianyue Zhengyin Pu."In terms of content and structure, this particular piece of work holds a mutual integration of Western beliefs in both culture and musical art.
