The Yuan Dynasty is unique in the history of China. The Han culture was severely challenged by the ruling Mongolians. However, medicine and literature of the Yuan Dynasty intersected amid the changing times and against the backdrop of culture heritage and convergence. Guan Hanqing, who was well-versed in both literature and medicine, cleverly combined these two elements in his drama. Among the 18 scripts Guan Hanging, 11 of them contain physician-patient writing. Although the medical context is not the core of the plot, it plays a pivotal role in how the plot unfolds. This shows Guan Hanging's familiarity with the subject matter and efforts to make his works unique with the medical context.
