The suppositional dialogues of Rhapsodic Fu Poetry build and develop the theoretical basis for Chinese narrative literature. There are five types of heroes in Tang Dynasty narrative rhapsodic fu poetry: (1) The implied author appears in the text and is also the fictitious hero. (2) Dual or multifaceted heroes are fictitious. (3) Both heroes bear a striking resemblance to historical characters. (4) Humans, ghosts, and gods can be heroes. (5) Animals or other things can be heroes. The creation of some Tang Dynasty Narrative Rhapsodic Fu Poetry heroes follows the conventions of the previous dynasty, but more ingenuity is evident.
