Advance Research and Application of Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment in High Altitude Training

摘要

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy or treatment (HBOT) has become one of the most important and indispensable method for the comprehensive treatment of clinical diseases. Increasing vasodilation, tissue oxygen supply and oxygen diffusion radius caused by HBOT exhibits an antimicrobial effect and decreases the tissue hypersensitivity to radiotherapy. HBOT also improves athleticism, and eliminates muscle fatigue and injuries after exercise. It improves the tissue hypoxia, disruption of homeostasis and injuries occurred during exercise, intensive training or athletics competition. Therefore, HBOT has the future prospects in application in therapeutic clinics and sports field. People who first time stay in high altitude environment will develop the symptoms of altitude sickness. HBOT could improve the symptoms of altitude sickness by increasing blood flow, microcirculation, nutrition and free radical metabolic rate of local tissues, enhancing oxygen carrying capacity of hemoglobin, pulmonary ventilation and cardiac reserve in human body. With these improvements, people could sleep well, think and behave properly, work efficiently and maintain their health level in high altitude environment. This is the adopting process called high-altitude acclimatization. Therefore, reinforcement of our researches of HBOT application in altitude training is the way to solve and avoid the disadvantages of altitude training, to ensure the quality of altitude training, and also develop altitude training theory and the strategy to practice altitude training.
