國際志工服務的學習成效:因疫情轉型之比較和綜整

Learning Outcomes of International Volunteering: Comparison and Synthesis of Transition Due to the Epidemic

本文合併報導兩份研究成果,研究一係針對元智大學於2014~2019年所參加的國際志工計畫,和2020~2022年受疫情影響轉型為國內偏鄉服務的兩批學生志工。探索學生志工在參加海外或國內活動後,對「自我專業成長」、「團隊合作能力」、「社會影響力」,以及「個人與團體價值」四大學習成效構面發展之差異。研究結果顯示,參與海外服務的學生志工在上述四大構面的自我認同上,有部分題項顯著高於國內服務者。研究者接著對五位志工進行焦點團體座談,輔助理解其對國際志工服務的看法與建議,從而對後續作業提供有效的規劃方向。研究二係針對所收問卷進行精簡與綜整,重審學習成效的因素結構,其分析結果顯示,學習成效可重新調整為:「自我專業成長」、「國際視野」、「社會影響力」與「個人與團體價值」。本研究另發現,自我專業成長和社會影響力都會顯著地影響學生志工的個人與團體價值,但國際視野並無明顯效果。

This paper integrates the results of two relevant studies: The first study (Study 1) targets on student volunteers who participated in the international volunteer program of Yuan Ze University from 2014 to 2019. The second one (Study 2) analyzes those who were affected by the epidemic and provided services into domestic rural areas from 2020 to 2022. Study 1 focuses on these two groups to explore the differences in the four dimensions of learning outcomes, including "self-professional growth," "teamwork," "social influence," and "individual and group values" after students participate in overseas or domestic volunteering activities, and to analyze the impact of these outcomes on the value of their lives. The results revealed that the self-recognition toward the above four dimensions of student volunteers participating in overseas service is slightly higher than that of domestic volunteers. The researchers continued to conduct a focus group discussion with five volunteers to understand their views and suggestions on international volunteer services in the hope that this study can provide effective planning for follow-up operations. After streamlining and synthesizing valid questionnaires in Study 2, the results of factor analysis showed that the learning outcomes can be readjusted as "self-professional growth," "international perspective," "social influence," and "individual and group values". Self-professional growth and social influence have clearly affected the individual and group values of student volunteers. Nevertheless, students' international vision has not been significantly broadened.
