This thesis investigates and researches the motives of studying Japanese language a technical institute in Taiwan. The investigation objects are schooling students totaled 348 persons. The results found that female students had better performances in studying Japanese language than that of male students, and students with better studying performance had higher scores in various factors of studying motives. But different length of learning period and different majoring conditions did not affect motives of studying Japanese. However, ”self-satisfaction factor” and ”language studying factor” can effectively predicate the study performance of students. We hope this research hopes can be helpful for applied Japanese language education in technical profession education system in Taiwan.
