摘要

Distal ulnar fracture (DUF) usually occurs with distal radius fracture (DRF), and this concurrent fracture is common in elderly people. As the distal ulna constitutes the rotational center of the forearm, any injury to the distal ulna and the surrounding structures can cause instability. However, the treatment of DUF remains controversial until now. In this article, we review the treatment methods, techniques, complications, and clinical outcomes of DUF. Furthermore, we provide a novel approach for treating cases of DRF with concurrent DUF, which is defined as a distal forearm fracture.
