This study is made based on 560 students from Providence University, investigating current situation in terms of motivation and hindrance factors in taking leisure exercise. It also probes differences of motivation and hindrance factors between students with different backgrounds. All study results were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe's method. Here are the conclusions, Regarding taking leisure exercise, most of the motivation is because of releasing pressure mentally and physically while personal obstacles mainly hinders them from exercising. Genders, years, frequency of exercise, types of exercise and length of exercising make apparent differences in motivation factors. According to the results of the study, the researcher gave some suggestions for physical education instructors and they can as well be basis of leisure exercising environment improvement.
