This paper presents a bilinear force-displacement relationship for a slender reinforced concrete structural wall system. This relationship describes the seismic response behavior of a slender reinforced concrete structural wall under lateral loads by using an equivalent single degree of freedom model and elastic response spectrum. This paper also proposed an analysis procedure that can analyze the seismic response behavior of single and coupled-wall system. In addition, the uniform translation of the slender reinforced concrete structural wall system was obtainedfrom the displacement concordance conditions and displacement design concepts. The roof displacement obtained by the elastic structure spectrum analysis of the single-degree-of-freedom model of the reinforced concrete structural wall system is in good agreement with the roof displacement obtained by the analytical method. The formula and analysis program proposed in this paper can effectively estimate the seismic response behavior of slender reinforced concrete structural walls, and the calculated results are in good agreement with experimental results.
