不同出生季別青少年網球選手最佳排名年齡之比較研究

A Comparative Study of Junior Tennis Players' Seasons of Birth and Their Best Rankings

摘要

目的：分析不同出生季別青少年網球選手最佳排名年齡之差異。方法：本研究截取國際網球協會（International Tennis Federation, ITF）網站上排名前100名青少年資料，以單因子變異數分析不同季別出生排名前100的青少年選手最佳排名年齡之差異。結果：不同季別出生之前100名選手最年排名年齡達顯著差異水準（F=63.22）（p＜.05），事後比較發現第1季出生最佳排名的平均年齡（18.01±0.66）＞第2季（17.80±0.58）＞第3季（17.63±0.56）＞第4季（17.42±0.54）。結論：青少年前100名男子網球選手受相對年齡效應影響，出生在年初的選手有較佳的排名。

Purpose: The differences between junior tennis players' seasons of birth and their best rankings were analyzed. Methods: This study retrieved data of top 100 junior players from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) website and used one-way ANOVA to analyze the age differences among players' best rankings and their birth seasons. Results: The age of top 100 players born in different seasons with best rankings was statically significant (F=63.22, p＜.05). Post hoc test indicated that the average age of the players born in the first season with their best rankings (18.01±0.66 years old) was older than that of the players born in the second (17.80±0.58 years old), third (17.63±0.56 years old), and forth season (17.42±0.54 years old). Conclusion: Top 100 junior male tennis players' rankings were affected by their age. Players born in the beginning of the year had better rankings.
