《紅樓夢》植物意象書寫析論－以靈陵香、女兒棠為例

摘要

本文以《紅樓夢植物圖鑑》為底本，觀看《紅樓夢》大觀園中的植物意象，既為園林，必蒔花植卉，從明代戲劇大師湯顯祖塑造《牡丹亭》中的杜麗娘吟出「花花草草由人戀」，也進一步在曹雪芹筆下演繹出《紅樓夢》廿三回「西廂記妙詞通戲語　牡丹亭艷曲警芳心」，膾炙人口的黛玉葬花，整個花飛花謝的意象瀰天蓋地，早已深植人心！從「花神文化」而言，前八十回中大觀女兒的守護神是寶玉；在民俗信仰的趣味光譜上，前八十回說花神陰神作祟是民間寧信有的趣味，寫法是間接的。到了八十回後便都改了陰森可怖的氣氛。本文從零陵香念珠談及辟穢，再旁及黛玉的詩作〈菊花詩〉、〈海棠〉、〈桃花行〉，怡紅公子寶玉的胭脂花、湘雲的芍藥海棠，女兒棠的花枯花榮間接展現榮寧二府的興衰，最後則論述寶玉為晴雯撰的〈芙蓉女兒誄〉，論文印證：植物做為花格即小說中的人格，甚至昭示閨閣之命運！
