衰老的青春－朱天文〈世紀末的華麗〉中的觀念轉變與衝突

作家朱天文的《世紀末的華麗》與白先勇的《臺北人》都是以臺北人為描述對象的小說，二人筆下的「臺北人」各有所耽溺，朱天文所書寫的臺北人是身處八○年代末、九○年代初，走出竹籬笆後的所謂外省二代、三代的人們，面對政治時空的轉換，立場被邊緣化的結果，有其不可解的焦慮。其中〈世紀末的華麗〉是朱天文一篇公認極具重要性的作品，筆者捧讀再三，總有不同風景印象，故事中關涉的問題涵蓋了消費、階級、身體與性別議題，而視角也可以看到至少三種族群－外省的、女性的、越性別的書寫。令筆者感興趣的是如朱天文這樣的作家，應該相當熟悉西方文學理論，她究竟在〈世紀末的華麗〉中組合了什麼樣的認知意識？她究竟探索或譴責了什麼樣的「世紀末」現象？在朱天文的創作路程上，〈世紀末的華麗〉又標示著什麼樣的重要性呢？緣此，筆者擬提出幾點閱讀觀察，在省籍的、性別的、跨性別的三個不同立場間檢視朱天文所欲呈顯的所謂「世紀末」的觀念轉變與衝突。

Edge of this, I intend to read to make a few observations, Provincial background, gender, across-gender between the three different positions to view and Chu is seeking was significant so-called ”End of the century's gorgeous” the concept of change and conflict.
