臺中市南屯區萬和宮裝飾藝術中的故事研究

A Study on the Types of Stories in the Decorative Arts of Wanhe Temple in Nantun District of Taichung City

摘要


南屯舊名犁頭店街,境內有一座媽祖廟-「萬和宮」。據說是清康熙二十三年(西元1684年)張國總兵由聖地湄洲,恭請媽祖娘娘(老大媽)護船來臺。起初僅建小祠祭祀,雍正四年(西元1726年)由南屯十二姓墾民醵資興建成大廟(十二姓為:張、廖、簡、江、劉、黃、何、賴、楊、戴、陳、林),萬和宮三百餘年來迭有修建,如今廟貌輝煌,媽祖神威益顯。民國七十四年,內政部公告為國家第三級古蹟。南屯萬和宮的裝飾藝術很豐富,表現方式有:繪畫、雕刻(木雕、石雕)、剪黏、交趾陶、堆塑等手法,每一幅作品皆呈現出豐富的意涵,這些意涵反映出常民內心所盼,符合其身心之需求;同時也具有教育意義。茲以神仙與人物故事為主,蒐羅了萬和宮內六十餘幅裝飾藝術,將故事種類加以歸納探討,藉明故事的出處、意涵及其影響。

There is a Matsu Temple "Wanhe gong" at the Li-tou-dian street, the old name of Nantun. In the reign of emperor Kangxi twenty-three years (AD 1684), Zhang guo invited and convoyed Mazu (goddess) from the holy place Meizhou to Taiwan. At first, there was only a small temple to worship Mazu(goddess). In the reign of emperor Yongzheng four years (AD 1726), people of different surnames (Zhang, Liao, Jane, Jiang, Liu, Huang, He, Lai, Yang, Dai, Chen, and Lin) funded to build a larger temple for Mazu (goddess). The temple was built and changed during more than three hundred years. Now, the temple is brilliant and Matsu is efficacious. In the Republic of China seventy-four years (AD 1985), the Ministry of the Interior announced the temple as a national third-level historical site. The decorative arts of Wanhe Temple are rich, including painting, wood and stone carving, cutting and pasting, pottery, pile of plastic and other artistic practices. These artistic works reflect the minds of ordinary people and also have a meaning of education. The themes of stories within these decorative arts are about gods and people. This article collects more than sixty pieces of decorative arts, classifies them in types of stories, and then shows an origin, meaning and influence of these decorative arts.
