Lin, Hsu, and Chiang (2016) was retracted by the Journal Scientometrics on 17 December 2020, as a consequence of the disclosing of their questionable issues by Liu, Wu and Yeats (2017). The critics highlight that the questionable article cannot be replicated to produce a consistent result. It is an extension based on the earlier publication in Electronic Commerce Research; however, the new results are characterized by ambiguous and vague presentation and misinformation. We disclose these questionable issues and propose a framework for bibliometric research on domain knowledge of other disciplines. We stress that it is researchers' obligation to provide complete and sound information, and in so doing, complying with academic integrity. This incidence would inspire global Academia to place greater trust in the integrity of Taiwanese academics.
