問答之間：「是不是」問答句在會話中的知識情態立場與協商

摘要

本研究以華語會話互動語料為觀察對象，試圖多面向探討互動交際中「是不是」問句在會話中的使用情況及其言談交際慣例。前人研究已經注意到「是不是」作為虛化的疑問標記，引導出的問句確信度高，具有明顯的肯定性傾向。本研究藉由日常會話語料，探究「是不是」問答句在對話互動中的使用情形。首先從會話語料中「是不是」出現的頻率發現「是不是」為正反形式最高頻的組合，因而成為虛化的固定語塊，完成特定的言談互動功能。接著藉助會話分析研究中序列脈絡和相對知識情態的概念，聚焦分析「是不是」前置引導的問句和答句所表達的知識情態立場和所完成的交際互動。研究發現提問者使用「是不是」問句主要展現了提問者對核實內容有知識上的獨立性和自主判斷，而這類問句的使用調動參與者進行知識和立場協商。也因為提問者對訊息掌握獨立自主的特性，「是不是」前置問句經常詢問會話脈絡之外的訊息，而有偏離或跳脫會話脈絡主軸的特性。

Based on videotaped, naturally occurring talk-in-interaction, this paper aims to investigate how Mandarin speakers and hearers orient to shi-bu-shi initiated questions and how the associated question-answer sequences are collaboratively achieved. This paper first shows, drawing on the usage-based approach, that shi-bu-shi is the top most frequent V-not-V representation and distinguishes itself from regular V-not-V questions. Using conversation analytic framework, this paper then examines the target questions in terms of epistemics and sequence structure. The finding indicates that the use of shi-bu-shi exerts speaker's epistemic agency and the associated question-answer pairs involve moment-by-moment stance negotiation among interlocutors.
