我國職棒球隊績效評估與管理改進策略：二階段DEA法之應用

摘要

職棒運動在國際上已是運動休閒產業之成熟市場，在國內近十八年來的發展，亦已逐漸形成極具市場潛能並頗受社會大眾關注和參與的活動。運動休閒市場之擴張暨其可能帶來產業之成長與休閒價值之創造，以及政府對該市場管制之要求鬆綁，都是未來運動產業發展之核心議題。為期協助建立國內職棒市場之健全管理制度，本研究凝應用二階段資料包絡分析法，輔以視窗分析、麥氏指數及交叉效率模式等方法，衡量我國六支職棒球隊從2004年上半季到2005年下半季的相對效率表現，並提供無效率球隊之效率改善建議。研究發現國內職棒球隊的規模不適當產生的規模無效率與技術改進明顯不足問題甚為嚴重，而管理面的整體效率改善則需更積極的行銷與管理策略予以提升。

This study applied two-stage Data Envelopment Analysis to assess the performance of Taiwan's professional baseball teams in the period of 2004 and 2005. Firstly, we executed one-stage DEA. Then, the intermediate outputs were added up to execute two-stage DEA. By using the intermediate outputs, productive efficiency and management efficiency scores were obtained respectively. Besides CCR and BCC models, Window Analysis, Malmquist Index and Cross Efficiency Method (CEM) were also applied within this study. The empirical outcomes implied that the scale inefficiency and technical retrogress were common issues that six professional baseball teams faced. To improve their efficiencies and productivities, it was necessary to adopt certain appropriate management strategies.
