The Technology Value Structure of Mobile Communication in Taiwan

行動科技之價值結構研究

利用手攜式設施上網的行動通訊應用大幅增加中(Francis, 199; Davidson et al., 2000)。使用人口全球將在2005年超過五十億(ARC group, 1999)。在行動通訊被大量使用的台灣,行動通訊的相關因素已成爲另人關心的議題。本研究分析科技使用者對行動科技的價值結構,藉由結構方程模型分析,驗證科技價值結構,而提出四因子模型,因子分別爲社會價值、經濟價值、功能價值、感性價值。

The use of the Mobile Communication, which is defined as the use of Internet via handheld devices, has been increasing rapidly (Francis, 199; Davidson et al., 2000). The number of Mobile Communication users is estimated to exceed 500 million until 2005 worldwide (ARC group, 1999). As the Mobile Communication has been used explosively in Taiwan, the factors on Mobile Communication have been an interesting issue. The objectives of this study are to examine the usage patterns of the Mobile Communication. We propose a value structure in order to investigate the Mobile Communication. The value structure is an analytic framework that consists of various types of values that the Mobile Communication provides. To identify the value structure of the Mobile Communication and usage patterns, surveys were conducted in Taiwan. Results show that value structures of the Mobile Communication are significantly different among different profile groups, and effects of the values on the degree of satisfaction derived from the Mobile Communication vary across profile groups. This paper ends with both theoretical and practical implications of the study results.
