英國與台灣中學科技教育師資培育之比較

The Comparison between the High School Technology Teachers' Development Program in British and in Taiwan

摘要


本文主要目的為比較英國與台灣中學科技教育師資培育的情形,以作為改進我國中學科技教育師資培育的參考。針對兩國在職前教育、師資檢定及在職進修三方面的比較,可以得到以下結論: 1、英國師資培育制度採「學校本位」,台灣則採「大學本位」 2、英國科技師資培育之專門學科偏重設計,台灣則涵蓋各科技系統 3、科技教育教師資格檢定皆有國定的標準,台灣起步則較晚 4、英國初任教師的學科教學能力薄弱,台灣則較強,但提供教學現場之訓練則較少。 最後,本文根據英國中學科技師資教育培育情況,提出可供台灣科技師資培育參考建議,包括多增加教學實務的課程及中學實習的時間,並重視實習期間的表現;建立完整而有公信力的檢定制度,使得師資檢定能落實,淘汰不適任教師;加強初任教師的訓練,使初任教師能提早熟悉與適應教學環境。

This article is aimed to compare the High School Technology Teachers' training in British and in Taiwan so as to improve our country's Teacher Development Program. Based on the three aspects: pre-school training, teachers' screening examination and extension and continuing education, we can conjecture the following conclusions: 1. Teacher Development System in the two countries adopts school-based and university-based program respectively. 2. In British, the Teacher Development Program highly emphasizes design program, whereas in Taiwan, it covers every technology system. 3. In British, there has been a standardized screening exam for Technology Teachers, while in Taiwan, our government takes steps to work on it only in recent years. 4. British teachers display a weak teaching expertise compared to those in Taiwan; however, Taiwan does not provide enough real teaching environment to practice teachers. According to the above comparison, Taiwan government can improve its teachers' training program by making the following changes: To add more classes that help teachers to polish up their teaching ability in a real environment. Also, the time for the internship should be lengthened and the performance during the internship should be valued. The screening system is expected to be established with integrity so that those incompetent teachers should be got rid of. Those who are admitted to be the teachers are supposed to receive more professional training in order to get adjusted to the new teaching environment as soon as possible.
