This study, by way of literature analysis, explored the relationship between sport development and environment sustainability. In 2015, the United Nations announced the "2030 Sustainable Development Goals" (SDGs), outlining a framework of 17 goals covering issues such as climate action, environmental pollution, education, etc. These goals serve as the direction for sustainable development across countries and sectors, recognizing that "sports are a driving force for sustainable development." As one of the mainstream activities of human beings today, sports inevitably consume resources in the process of development. Therefore, a series of environmental protection measures in sports have been generated from the sustainable model of the Olympics. SDGs provided a new model of sport participation. Sport has made significant contributions to SDGs 11 to 15, such as energy efficient sports venues, the green competition that reduce carbon emissions and the products made from recyclable materials and waste, green sports events that reduce carbon emissions, and leisure sports behaviors that reduce environmental impact. In conclusion, there're two future direction of sport and sustainability in Taiwan, that is "smart sustainability" and "green connection". To be more specific, "smart sustainability" refers to utilize our progressive technology to conduct the sustainable action. For the "green connection", we can communicate, cooperate with different country, culture and research area through sport, which apply and practice the sustainable development. In order to implement the sustainable development, how to build the cognition of sustainable development of the sporting population will be the gospel of global environment. This study believes that under the framework of the theme of sustainability, sports have more participation forms, making sports a tool and carrier for sustainable development. In addition, Taiwan's sports should leverage its good natural environment and industrial technological advantages to continue promoting, and it is suggested to focus on two main aspects: "smart sustainability" and "green bridge". The first, "smart sustainability", refers to creating and establishing sustainable products that use fewer resources, consume less energy, and meet sports needs through Taiwan's excellent technology and semiconductor industry advantages. "Green bridge" means utilizing the aforementioned advantages to facilitate communication and cooperation on "sports and sustainable development" among different countries, cultures, and research fields, enhancing Taiwan's international visibility, and gaining more influence and diplomatic opportunities.
