探討設計師與工廠協同產品設計之開發流程－以鶯歌玖益陶瓷工廠為例

A Study on the Development Process of Collaborative Product Design between Designers and Factories: Jiu-Yi Porcelain Factory in Yingge as An Example

摘要

陶瓷是種特殊的歷史文化載體，不同區域的陶瓷皆有其風格，現今陶瓷已不再是工藝創作獨有素材，愈來愈多設計師也將陶瓷作為表現產品設計概念的媒材之一。但諸多設計師和工廠合作時，常因彼此觀念差異產生溝通障礙，加上設計師不熟悉陶瓷製程，導致量產過程非常不順。本研究係以鶯歌玖益陶瓷工廠為對象，針對陶瓷相關產業專家及設計師，運用觀察法及深度訪談法，並整理陶瓷產品之開發製作流程。製作流程依玖益陶瓷工廠基本生產流程為基礎，並配合常用日用陶瓷設計表現手法，統整出日用陶瓷生產流程圖、相關製程時程、專有名詞及注意事項。在產品進入生產階段前，便能提供設計師關於專業製程意見及設計上可供參考之想法，或提醒設計師適時切入掌握流程，經過雙方詳細討論後，能避免設計師一意孤行地直接將設計構想投入製造，而面臨許多問題，並縮短雙方認知誤差距離，達到協同設計之可能。

Ceramic is a cultural carrier. Different cultures have developed their unique styles of ceramic craft, and today ceramic is not only used as a material for the craft creation but is also used as a medium for the designers to present their product design concepts. Effective communication is often the challenges faced by many product designers when working with ceramic factories. Communication barrier tend to arise due to misunderstanding of concepts between them. Moreover, designers' lack of experience in ceramic production also makes the production process inefficient. As the demand for ceramic product design continue to increase, a more efficient production process is needed, which is the goal of this study. This study visited the Jiu- Yi Porcelain factory in Yingge to gain better understanding of the ceramic production process. In-depth interviews were carried with five representatives from ceramic factory and five product designers - aiming to understand their experiences in their respective fields and also to summarize the important concerns to be noted in the ceramic development process. Hopefully through this survey, communication barrier between product designers and ceramic factories could be solved and hence, improve the production process both in technical aspect and also product design aspect. This study summarized the process involved in the standard ceramic production; the techniques of ceramic design expression; and the flowcharts, technical terms, and concerns required in the process. It serves as a guideline for designers to better understand the technical details involved in the ceramic production process, and it encourages designers to account these knowledge during the product design phrase; With these knowledge, designers could avoid much of friction due to miscommunication and hence, achieve good cooperative works.
