植物工廠應用於家用蔬菜栽培產品之設計

摘要

農業為國家的根本，與人民的身心健康息息相關，然而都市中密集的居住模式，使得居家環境多缺乏室內自然採光與室外延伸空間，在不適合栽種作物的條件下，人們只得在外採買農產品，而對於作物的栽培過程愈趨陌生。隨著植物工廠技術的成熟，因其可克服都市環境限制的農法特性，市場看好相關技術應用於家用蔬菜栽培產品的潛力，然而植物工廠產業奠基於大規模蔬菜生產，企業多不擅以居家使用的角度進行設計思考，使得相關產品仍推廣不利。因此，本研究旨在彙整居家蔬菜栽培相關領域的專業知識，以探討如何將植物工廠技術導入家用產品設計。文獻探討針對三大主軸：（1）植物工廠；（2）園藝治療；（3）蔬果保存，以建構知識基礎並加以彙整歸納；再以個案研究之方式，針對都市家庭之蔬菜保存與園藝活動現況進行觀察分析。透過訪談植物工廠產業界專家、園藝治療師，對於植物工廠於家用產品之應用進行更深入的了解與討論。最後，將所得資訊彙整出設計原則，並提出一款居家蔬果站之設計提案，再透過居家蔬菜專家、植物工廠學術界專家、產品設計師的意見，進行設計之評估與改善。本研究之結果：（1）經由文獻以及彙整多領域專家之意見，統整出植物工廠應用於家用產品之設計參考原則；（2）依此設計原則，進行一款居家蔬果站設計並製作概念原型予以參考。本研究成果將植物工廠落實應用於居家生活之中，以拉近人與農業之間的距離。

Agriculture is closely connected to the physical and mental health of life. However, with the great crowdedness of city residence, urban living environments generally lack indoor sun lighting and outdoor extensive space. These deficiencies make it rarely possible to farm vegetables at home. Consequently, city residents have no choice but to purchase agricultural products at the market, and have gradually become unfamiliar with how vegetables are grown. Ever since the development of Vertical Farming technology, there has been a growing trend in its use in the agricultural industry, because of its capability to overcome the environmental restrictions of urban farming. Furthermore, the market has a bright prospect for related household products. Nevertheless, the Vertical Farming industry, based on the mass production of vegetables, is an enterprise still looking for where the household product market might be. Thus, this study aims to organize the researches of home farming-related field knowledge, to find the solution of how to apply Vertical Farming technology into living environments to improve people's life quality. In the literature, there are three main research fields: Vertical Farming, Horticulture Therapy, and Vegetable Preservation. These were analyzed, organized, and, afterwards, related questions were answered in the research method section. For this thesis, a case study was used to realize how vegetable preservation and farming could be done at home. Furthermore, two experts from the fields of Vertical Farm and Horticulture Therapy were respectively interviewed to discuss how home vegetable farming could be applied to household products. Moreover, the principles of home vegetable planting product design with Vertical Farming techniques were established according to the result of the study. Following these principles, this study proposed a design for a home vegetable and fruit station to three related-field experts (knowledgeable in home vegetable planting and preservation, Vertical Farming, and product design) to evaluate and give advice on the design prototype. In sum, two main contributions of this study are as follows: (1) Based on the literature research, the case study, and the expert interviews, this study set up the principles of applying Vertical Farming techniques to home vegetable planting products. (2) According to the set-up principles, this study proposed a home vegetable and fruit station design and made a prototype for future studies' reference, and expected to apply Vertical Farming techniques into living environments to shorten the distance between man and agriculture.
