It is rare for hemorrhage within a vestibular schwannoma to occur, which is caused by the rupture of fragile intratumoral vessels. When this type of hemorrhage does take place, acute onset of headache and hearing loss are frequently experienced. We report a patient with intratumoral hemorrhage inside a vestibular schwannoma after mild head injury, and discuss the possible mechanism such as traction on the tumor vasculature during the injury. Excision is the recommend treatment for large tumor. We also advise patients with vestibular schwannoma to make every effort to avoid head injuries.
