"Iki" is the culture and aesthetics unique to Yamato people. This study investigated the textual connotation of the book "Structure of Iki" by Kuki Syuzou in an attempt to analyze the nature and awareness experiences of "iki." This study associated and interpreted the vocabulary, culture, and featured of "iki," and also attempted to use the concept emphasized by the U.S. pragmatism semiotician Charles S. Peirce (1839-1914)-The establishment of a sign is mainly dependent upon three main bodies-sign-object-interpretant, as the research method. The investigation from three awareness dimensions: "affection," "awareness," and "knowledge" is beneficial to the perception of deeper meaning and experience of "iki."
