The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of the exercise, combined with dietary control on body composition and the health-related physical fitness of obese elementary children. 34 children, 11.39±0.4 years of age, 149±8.73 cm in height, and 63.20±10.76 kg in weight, were included in this study. The subjects were given dietary control and asked to record and the dietary habits everyday during the experiment. Mean- while, subjects exercise 5 days a week, 40 min each. The study lasted for 12 weeks. The health-related physical fitness items and body composition variables of the subjects were recorded both before and after the experimental period. Here are the results:1. The average height of the subjects increased significantly. The average weight dropped by 1 kg and the Body Mass Index (BMI) was significant (p<.05).2. In the health-related physical fitness, significant progress were observed in every item (p<.05).Therefore, it is beneficial to obese elementary children in health-related physical fitness with well-developed exercise prescriptions and dietary control. The study suggests that school and family should cooperate with each other, helping our obese elementary children to have health-related physical fitness and happy life.
