以紮根理論建構高齡者運動指導員之專業能力

Professional Competency of Exercise Instructors for the Elderly: A Grounded Theory Approach

摘要


本研究目的旨在建構高齡者運動指導員之專業能力。研究方法係以某太極拳晨間運動團體之學員13人為對象,採參與觀察法進行為期2週,每週5日,每次90分鐘的全程觀察,並針對2名高齡者運動指導者與1名被指導經驗者,以深入訪談法蒐集高齡者運動指導員專業能力內涵的第一手資料。所得資料以質性研究中之紮根理論進行歸納、整理和分析。本研究結果為,高齡者運動指導員之專業能力於指導前期:人格特質與溝通技巧;指導期間:老人學知識、運動知識、運動技巧、篩選評估、課程設計、運動指導、自我要求與溝通技巧;指導後期:經營管理與溝通技巧。獲得結論如下:以紮根理論所建構出高齡者運動指導員之專業能力包括:專業知識、專業技能、專業態度、人格特質與溝通技巧。本研究結果可提供未來建立高齡者運動指導員專業能力指標之參考。

The purpose of this study was to develop a set of professional competency of exercise instructors for the elderly. The participants of this study were 13 team members of Taijiquan. The duration of observation was two weeks, five times a week and each time for 90 minutes. This study collects relevant data by field observation, depth interviews and use the grounded theory of qualitative inquiry. The result of professional competency of exercise instructors for the elderly was the pre-stage: personality traits and communication skills; middle stage: gerontology, exercise knowledge, motor skill, fitness instructor, screening and risk assessment, curriculum design, self-training, and communication skills; the post-stage: enterprise management and communication skills. The result indicated that the professional competency of exercise instructors for the elderly contains five factors which are professional knowledge, professional skill, professional attitude, personality traits, and communication skills. The future study was suggested to construct the indicator of professional competency of exercise instructors for the elderly.
