學校以外的資優教育方案:青年投資計畫的實踐與發現

Out-of-School Gifted Education Program: The Practice and Reflection of the Investment Project of Youths

摘要


低代表性資優群體(underrepresented)受到國內、外資優教育學者的關注,(Peters & Engerrand, 2016;李家兆、郭靜姿,2017),尤其對於來自「貧窮」家庭背景的學生,在美國有學者將其比喻為「被忽視的寶石」(overlooked gems)(VanTassel-Baska & Stambaugh, 2007),關注來自貧窮或來自低收入家庭學生是否有足夠的學習機會?在沒有資源的情況下,來自家境清寒或遭逢逆境的學生又該如何學習?本文將描繪「青年投資計畫」的理念與模式,並梳理該方案的實踐歷程,分析其運作的關鍵內涵,亦透過問卷調查分析該方案學員的參與經驗,提出支持來自低收入家庭的高能力學生的建議。

Students who are gifted and from low-education backgrounds have unique education and learning support needs, making them different from other gifted students (Peters & Engerrand, 2016; VanTassel-Baska, 2003). "Overlooked gems" is used in gifted education to describe this population (VanTassel-Baska & Stambaugh, 2007). This paper described one successful program for disadvantage high-ability students, the Investment Project of Youths (IPY) in Taiwan, and outlined 3 pillars of effective program for disadvantaged high-ability. Online questionnaire method was administered in this study to collect data. The findings suggest that participants hold a positive attitude toward the project and think it is of great help to their academic performances at school and future careers.
