八卦山地區黑角舞蛾之生物學特性

Biological Characteristics of Casuarina Moth Lymantria xylina (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae) in Bagua Mountain Area

摘要


黑角舞蛾(Lymantria xylina Swinhoe)是八卦山地區雜木及果樹重要的害蟲。幼蟲取食作物嫩枝、花及葉片,造成產量嚴重損失及隔年結果。本報告針對黑角舞蛾不同生育階段的形態特徵作詳盡的描述,並探討其生物學特性。黑角舞蛾雄蟲幼蟲期有5齡,雌蟲幼蟲期5或6齡。雄蟲不同階段生育期分別如下:幼蟲期34.09±1.48天,蛹期為9.73±1.74天,成蟲壽命7.09±1.38天。雌蟲不同階段生育期分別如下:5個齡期幼蟲為40.75±1.42天,6個齡期幼蟲為51.2±1.7天,蛹期為10.11±1.76天,成蟲壽命5.89±2.2天。在不同寄主上之雌雄性比(♀/♀+♂)以小葉欖仁0.21最低,血桐0.69最高。雌成蛾偏好產卵於直徑小於1cm之荔枝枝條。

The casuarina moth, Lymantria xylina Swinhoe, is a serious insect pest of hardwood and fruit crops in the Bagua mountain area of central Taiwan. The larvae of L. xylina which feed on the young branch, flowers and leaves cause yield loss and delay fruiting of host plants. In this report, the characters of different stages of L. xylina were described in details. The larvae of male have five instars, but the female have five or six instars. The developmental time of male from larvae to adult was shown as follows: larvae 34.09±4.99 days, pupa 9.73±1.74 days, adult 7.09±1.38 days. The developmental time of female from larvae to adult was also shown as follows: the five-instars larvae 40.75±1.42 days, the six-instars larvae 51.2±1.7 days, pupa 10.11±1.76 days, adult 5.89±2.2 days. The sex ratio (♀/♀+♂) of L. xylina pupae on the Terminalia boivinii and Macaranga tanarius trees were 0.21, and 0.69, respectively. The female of L. xylina preferred to lay egg masses on the Litchi chinensis branches which diameter less than 1 centimeter.
