Since 2000, publishers such as Tianwei Culture Books and Chiuko began to issue annual anthologies of children's literature or fairy tales. Although such anthologies enable us to observe the development children's literature, the former also allows us to identify current limitations of the latter. Such limitations may be a result of the editors responsible for selecting the works to include or may also have been caused by the development limitations of children's literature. The author of this study instructs a course on children's literature. Therefore, he has read numerous and various anthologies of children's literature. By comparing the annual anthologies of children's literature and those of general literature (e.g., prose and novels), this study identified a number of significant differences between the two types; the differences were subsequently used to explore the current development of children's literature. This study comprised an introduction, body, and conclusion, in which the body analyzed the annual theologies of the two aforementioned literature types and conducted a comparative analysis.
