明代廷杖文化的身體暴力與榮譽：以楊繼盛為例

摘要

廷杖之殘酷，是談論明代政治氛圍之晦暗與暴力的一個重要切入點。然而，除了慣常的「暴政」視角（著重在上對下的君臣關係），從不同的研究取徑分析受杖者肉體經驗的書寫，或能為「廷杖」課題激發出更多討論。楊繼盛的《自書年譜》，是少見詳細描寫受杖後入獄與自我治療方式的史料。本文以《自書年譜》為探討核心，觀察受杖者：一、受杖後的獄中生活及其治療；二、受杖前的準備、受杖當下的肉體經驗及其書寫；三、結合以上兩方面的討論，進一步分析受杖經驗書寫再現的身體，由此窺見一個認同「廷杖文化」的榮譽世界。

The brutality of Tingzhang is one of dimension to demonstrate the darkness and violence inside the politics of Ming Dynasty. Not only official documents imply tyrannical top-down relationship between emperors and courtiers, but also the writings of physical experience by those courtiers who were tortured can provide researcher oppertunities to study in differnet perspectives of Tingzhang. Among the writings, Yang Jisheng's Zishu Nianpu the works showing in detail about the process of imprisonment as well as the treatment for his wounds. This article focuses on Yang Jisheng’s Zishu Nianpu, in order to explore three things. First is about his imprisonment and the medication after flogging. The second part will be the preparations before flogging, the physical experiences, and the writings of his physical sufferings. Third, based on the discussions above, is to investigate the meanings of bodies which are displayed in the works. Through Yang’s writings, an ＂honor world＂ of identity with the flogged courtiers and ＂the culture of Tingzhang＂ could be discovered.
