臺灣地名之歷史傳說研究
Study on History by the Fable of the Geographic Name in Taiwan
摘要
在臺灣，地名形成的原因包含了政治、自然地理環境、種族語言、歷史傳說及產業結構等因素，其中的「傳說」一項，往往結合其他各項因素作為變因，使地名的形成沿革在單純的故事主體外，又結合了多種影響內容情節的背景條件與與特質。地名傳說是起源於一地居民之傳播，卻多了一項「地名」而成為與現實結合的必要條件，也就是傳說本身無法脫離現實但卻在個別情節中帶有某種想像概念的故事。在臺灣，與歷史發展分期相關的地名傳說不在少數，這些傳說不僅記錄了臺灣地名產生的背景與變化，同時也反映了民眾種種的集體意識；值得注意的是，這類地名傳說一旦與一地的歷史結合，則其故事之主體，除了「地名」之外，又必須與實際存在的歷史背景吻合，故事本身因而無法與現實完全切割，因而使得原本以想像成分為主的「傳說」，部分可與方志記錄相呼應，並且與傳統以豐富想像成分為主要特色，充滿著浪漫色彩、帶有超自然性質的傳說故事有著明顯區別。研究發現，由於傳統的政權轉移與歷史意象深植於人們心中，歷史傳說因此得以依據歷史變遷敘寫其內容。在許多傳說中，只要與歷史背景相關，即不難看出傳統歷史對民眾觀念的影響，人們在傳說傳播過程中，或多或少都對曾經發生的歷史事件或政權印象加以敘述鋪陳，反映在地名傳說中，則複雜地呈現出民眾的心理結構與觀念。依據歷史分期所分類出的地名傳說，複雜地反映出基本的民間文學特性，同時亦結合社會文化思維等主、客觀因素而存在。這樣的地名傳說，一方面體現了一個區域居民的文化心理結構；另一方面則反映出不同時空背景下的居民生活風格、地域特色及群體特徵。

In this article, the object of study is according to the fable of the geographic name in Taiwan, based on the collective of Folk Literature, analyzed and categorized the fables, discusses the fable of the geographic name in Taiwan reflected the history of collective consciousness and the logical thinking.The research discovered that the fable of the geographic name in Taiwan was developed in the politics, history, and the religious belief by the collective consciousness, the fable of the geographic name in Taiwan was not only represented a peculiarity of Folk Literature, but also appeared the different life and impression (about political power, historical background) of people in different period and the change of times.
