The Formation of Special Relationship between Japan and Taiwan: Cold War and After
日本與台灣特殊關係之形塑：冷戰時期及其後

Although the United States has long served as the most important variable in the foreign relations of Japan and Taiwan since the beginning of the Cold War, geopolitics, colonial experience and interactions between social elites and economic regimes have contributed to Japan's crucial role as a quasi-ally for Taiwan. Based on the case of the Anglo-American alliance, this paper analyzes the so called ＂special relationship＂ and describes the historical development of Japan-Taiwan relations since the 1950s. In this paper, I'll seeks to trace and observe a possible path between Japan and Taiwan in the future.
