Most of today's Internet generation learners already have the basic skills of computer software/network applications. How to become a good digital citizen with an effective level of information literacy in an information society is particularly important. As in such a society, people are facing the complicated dual characteristics of the physical world and the Internet world. The courses of information literacy for college students in Taiwan are mostly offered as general education courses, and the teaching style has been developed towards incorporating traditional teaching methods into an e-learning platform environment. Moreover, the instructors have been implementing a problem-oriented learning approach into the information literacy courses. This paper shares the results of teaching based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and student learning outcomes of an e-learning information literacy program "Information Literacy and Ethics" developed by the Ministry of Education for future reference by interested instructors and the administration.
