摘要

本研究以《台灣社會學刊》2008－2010年所出版的研究性文章為研究對象，應用資訊計量學與引用文獻分析的方法，探討其引用文獻之資料類型、語言、年代與引用半衰期的分布。此外，針對引用文獻在文章中的位置，例如：導論、研究方法、結果、結論等加以比較。再者，分析內容註與註主中註之引用情形並進一步採用Peritz模式作為引用類型之分類依據。最後針對研究結果進行綜合歸納。本研究結果可以了解社會學學者的引用特性與資訊需求，進而應用於圖書館之館是主規劃，籍以提供研究人員完善的資訊服務。此外亦可將研究之分析結果，提供社會學期刊出版者與學者使用注釋與引用格式之參考，並可為引文索引資料庫之建產提供相關資訊。經由本研究結果應可增進對引用文獻本質的認識，並期望作為未來相關實證研究之參考。再者，在期刊引文格式與排版規範上提出建議，以做為期刊文獻撰寫與出版標準化的參考。

Using informetrics and citation analysis, the present study exploresand compares the characteristics and types of citations in the articles ofthe Taiwanese Journal of Sociology, the first-rank journal in the field ofsociology assessed by the institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Science Council, R.O.C. In addition to citations appearing inthe text, the phenomena of content notes and note-within-notes will bediscussed in the latter part. Research articles published in 2008-2010 andcompliant with the IMRAD format were then collected and analyzed bydocument type, language, publication year, citation half-life, andlocation of citations (i.e., introduction, methodology, results anddiscussion sections). Content note, in this study, refer to note asillustrations for main texts, while note-within-notes refers tocontent-notes citing other publications. On the basis of citationclassification model developed by Peritz, citation type of sociologyresearchers in Taiwan was also explored. In view of citation formats andcopy-editing, it is recommended that, for both domestic researchers andjournal publishers, content notes and note-within-notes be avoided, based on the research outcome. A simpler layout of the text may lead to easier reading and understanding of research articles. For citation indexservices such as TSSCI, it is recommended that note-within-notes beincluded in databases as citations, to prevent authors and publicationsfrom being left out. This study is expected to provide a betterunderstanding of the nature of citations and to serve as a foundation forfuture empirical studies.
