以紫外光-可見光光譜儀量測防曬係數(SPF)的檢測方法

摘要


目前市面上測量防曬係數(Sun Protection Factor , SPF)廣泛使用防曬係數測定儀(SPF analyzer),但其只能用於測定SPF,應用多樣性較少。紫外光-可見光光譜儀(ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer)的測試原理與防曬係數測定儀具有相同的特性,將紫外光-可見光光譜儀再賦予一項功能,也能用於測量SPF。兩者使用上皆是根據樣品中的成分可吸收紫外光或散射、反射紫外光的性質,透過測量樣品於UVA及UVB波段的吸光程度,再依據測定結果轉換成SPF值,以獲得其SPF。本實驗主要是使用紫外光-可見光光譜儀搭配60mm積分球,以體外方式(in vitro)測量防曬乳之SPF,針對市面上所販售的四種防曬化妝品,檢測其SPF數值,並與產品所標示之SPF數值及防曬係數測定儀測定值作一比較。結果發現,用紫外光-可見光光譜儀搭配積分球,所測定的SPF值與產品標示指數及SPF測定儀之測定值皆相符,因此紫外光-可見光光譜儀可用做SPF的體外測試方法。

The determination of sun protection factor (SPF) of a sunscreen is widely performed by a dedicated SPF analyzer in the market. Alternatively, an ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrometer integrated with 60 mm integrating sphere can also be used to measure the SPF. Both instruments are utilized based on the absorption, scattering or reflection of the UV light by the ingredients in a sunscreen. The absorption of a sample in UVA and UVB regions can be determined In vitro determination an SPF of sunscreen products were performed and the obtained results can converted into a SPF value according to an established equation. In this study, four commercial sunscreens were used to evaluate the suitability of an UV-Vis spectrometer for SPF determination by comparing the results obtained by an UV-Vis spectrometer with the SPF value labeled on sunscreen products and the results obtained by a SPF analyzer. The results shows that the measured SPF values obtained by an UV-Vis spectrometer with integrating sphere are similar to the data done by SPF analyzer and consistent with the sunscreen product labels. Therefore, an UV-Vis spectrometer is applicable to SPF In vitro determination.
