Influence of Computer Assisted Feedback on Business English Report E-Learning Motivation of Managers: A Preliminary Result

The written communication skill in general is crucial for an organization to run smoothly and globally. Therefore, a workforce with a good international communication skill is critical for a company to employ effective global logistics and expand overseas. As the Internet accessibility increases, employing digital training may be an effective way of equipping employees with a good business English report writing skill. However, some studies indicated that digital learning efficacy is highly dependent on the management of the digital teaching environments, and there is little research centering on digital training of business English report writing in Taiwan. To address this research gap, this project explored digital learning in enhancing employees' business English report writing skill. In this study, we tried to investigate employees' current learning situations of the business English report writing skill through a three months computer-assisted feedback teaching experiment on learners with different job levels. We also attempted to develop digital teaching material, construct digital teaching strategy and model, and evaluate strategy and measurement tools for digital training of business English report writing skill. The preliminary result indicated that managers were more studious and persistent on finishing every assignment, comparing to non-managerial learners. The preliminary findings of this study provide an important reference resource to human resource departments for planning English report writing skill trainings for different employee types at workplace.
