In order to realize its greenhouse gas reductions targets and to enhance energy security, Mainland China has been actively investing in renewable energy in recent years. The expansion of the Chinese renewable energy market can bring about commercial opportunities for Taiwan's renewable energy industry, which is essential to the success of the island's clean energy policy. This essay begins with surveying the renewable energy industry in Mainland China, and collates the most relevant legislation and policies aimed at promoting renewable energy in the country. At the end, the essay gives brief recommendations for the governance of Cross-Strait cooperation in renewable energy.
